Harness the Power is a hub for community yoga practice. Our growing co-op of yoga teachers located in the hill country offer a variety of yoga classes to the community outside of a studio. Most of our community classes are designed with emphasis on being beginner-friendly. Classes may be donation-based or have a class fee. Check the calendar for upcoming yoga classes and events.
When you Harness the Power, of your body, of your mind, of the sun, or anything else that is generating energy, you will achieve greatness. One of an infinite number of ways to Harness the Power is to consciously channel your breath and integrate it within and outside of yourself bringing in more harmony on a molecular level and beyond.
The yoga discipline spawns a wide spectrum of benefits - from a more flexible spine and proper skeletal alignment to a fresh flush of fluids and insight into the body’s subtle energy systems. Furthermore, the mental enhancements such as experiencing equanimity and a sharpened concentration, serve to expand overall awareness. All of these individual elements converge into a spiritual enrichment vortex. Let us Harness the Power of Yoga!
What motivated me to pursue a Yoga Teacher certification is foremost, that I fully believe that a yoga practice would benefit most everyone. If more people practiced more yoga, we’d be a healthier and happier human race. Unfortunately, there is still a popular misunderstanding about what yoga is, and many people feel like they “can’t do yoga.” It’s also become commercialized and for many, unaffordable. My mission is to help clear up the misconceptions and make yoga even more accessible to the whole community.
I was introduced to yoga through my grand-sensei while I was studying Aikido in Baltimore, MD. The two disciplines complement each other well. Since then, I’ve grown a deep appreciation for the practice as well as growing an inch taller in my 30’s. In fall of 2020 I earned my 200hr YTT at Quietmind Yoga. By March 2022, I began teaching Community Yoga at the Dripping Springs Farmers Market. To appeal to a wide audience of new and old yogis, I teach mostly a Hatha style, where we hold each pose for a few breaths, but also including Yin with more relaxing longer holds, and Vinyasa, linking breath with movement. Because there are so many kinds of yoga to choose from, I believe there is a style for everyone.
My vision is to expand Harness the Power Yoga into a co-op of teachers offering a variety of yoga classes around the Texas Hill Country, online, and beyond!
